none Cotesia flavipes; LIFE-CYCLE; Temperature & humidity effects; HUMIDITY-; TEMPERATURE-; Life cycle relationships This study was carried out to determine the most suitable conditions (temperature and relative humidity) for mass rearing of Cotesia flavipes (Cameron) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) to control the sugar cane borer Diatraea saccharalis (Fabr.). Temperature markedly influenced the parasitoid biological cycle, which increased with decreasing temperatures. There was no parasitoid development at the temperature of 35 degree C. The best temperature condition for the C flavipes rearing was in the 25-30 degree C range. The threshold of temperature and the thermal requirements were determined as well. Relative humidity (under the range 40 to 100%) did not affect the pupal period length, however it did influence its viability and adult life span, which increased with the increase in RH. The most suitable RH condition for C. flavipes rearing was near the saturation limit.
