NOTES ON TAXONOMY
Holmgren used Ichneumon jocator Fabricius,1793 sensu Gravenhorst, 1829 as the type species for Tersilochus.This deliberate misapplication of name (ICZN article 70(c)(i)) created a new taxon Tersilochus jocator. Although Holmgren quoted the name as Tersilochus (Porizon) iocator Gravenhorst, the spelling should be based on Gravenhorst's name. (Horstmann, 1969)
