NOTES ON TAXONOMY
The original name was derived from the host 'an Aphis, Procephalus sp. on Pinus inops'. Muesebeck & Walkley asserted the the host name should be Prociphalus thus emended the name to prociphali. The correct spelling of the host name is Prociphilus, a pemphigine. (Muesebeck and Walkley, 1951)
